NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Health & Safety

 NVQ Level 3 Diploma

Candidates have to register for NVQ Level 3 Diploma. They have to complete a pre-registration assessment and a registration agreement form. This prompts you to consider all the aspects involved in undertaking a supported distance learning qualification and to seek permission from their organisation to collect evidence in the workplace. This Level 3 NVQ Certificate qualification has a Level 3 NVQ Certificate; candidates will work through a series of eight modules. Each module is structured with set activities to enable them to: Gather evidence for the qualification; Receive guidance on how to present your evidence and; Understanding minimum credit value of 21. To get this how to use the e-portfolio system. You will have access to online resources and other Open University courses to help you develop knowledge and understanding for the qualification.

You will also receive support from your allocated assessor. When the candidate registers, he will see that his qualification has a stated end date. You can complete your course sooner than the end date if work is submitted on a regular basis and at a good speed. If not you may have to apply for an extension which will incur additional fees. The mandatory credit in this certificate (12 credits) is included in the four mandatory units. These units cover areas like:

  • To establish communication with clients for advice and guidance
  • To support clients to make use of the advice and guidance service
  • To review own contribution to the service
  • To understand the importance of legislation and procedures

Observation of the candidate’s practice in the workplace by his assessor is an essential assessment component of this qualification and will contribute to generating evidence for both the mandatory and the optional units. Other than the 21 credits the balance nine credits have to be achieved by taking three optional units. Three credits have to be taken at Level 3.  To complete an NVQ you need to ascertain that you could do certain work-related tasks, in a combination of a portfolio which you build up evidence of what you’ve done at work and by observation – an assessor observes you work and finds out whether you can do the tasks. Assessors sign off their units when the candidates are ready after testing candidates’ knowledge, understanding and work-based performance to judge their competence in the workplace.

Candidates keep comparing their performances with the set standards as they learn. Other achievements are measured against what is to be achieved, how much they still need to do and how they should go about it, until they are labelled as competent for a unit or a whole NVQ. The system is relevant for candidates who already have skills and want to enhance them, but also suit those who are just beginners. As the system is so flexible, new ways of learning can be used immediately.

So, if you’re unable to apply for an NVQ since you’re still looking for work, on the verge of a change in the career or just don’t feel an NVQ is right for you, then they can go for  classroom-based awards that will help them learn the knowledge and skills  to do a job or take an NVQ. They’re assessed on assignments, practical tests, written exams or even online multiple choice tests. These are an ideal way to improve your knowledge and get that promotion you so desire.
